A New Message to us All from Lindsey, our President of the B&DWBA

Hello Ladies

I wanted to write again as we seem to have been in lockdown for so long now and there seems to be a small light at the end of the tunnel.

In accordance with government guidelines Bowls England have taken the decision to advise that bowls clubs may open again very soon but with strict controls to facilitate social distancing.  If this the case at

your club and you take the decision to play do enjoy but pleasebe very careful and keep yourselves safe and healthy.

As you should all know by know by now as I have contacted all clubs about it, I am raising money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance by knitting a very long scarf almost 11 metres at the moment. (please see picture above}  As clubs help me I am knitting that clubs colours in and putting their name on.

So far I have received some very generous offers of sponsorship but only from a few clubs.  I am really hoping that some more of you will consider supporting me even if it is only a very small amount. Every little helps at this very difficult time for charities.  This is the only way we can help them at this time as we are not meeting as an association.

I heard from the DSAA only this week and they tell me that they are still responding to calls for help although their funds must be very depleted.

I do hope that you are keeping well and safe although I am sure you are getting fed up as we are. My husband has had the shingles for the last six weeks but he is beginning to feel better now.  He has spent a lot of time in the garden and enjoying growing plants from seeds.

I have been relatively well although I did have a tooth out at the emergency dentist a few weeks back.. I am sure like me you will be glad when we can get back to the hairdressers.

Please do continue to stay safe and I send you my very best wishes.  I am always very happy to hear from people so if you would like to contact me feel free to do so.

May God bless you all until we meet again
